Sunny's Way Home

Help Sunny find the way home to the garden.

Sunny went out exploring and now it's time to go home. The garden is just past Lantern Lake. Twillan knows the way... well, most of it! Will you come too?

The story

Sunny is a small cat with a garden of her own, just past Lantern Lake. This morning she went out exploring, following one interesting smell and then another, all the way into the Glowing Forest.

Then the sun went down, and the forest did what it always does in the evening. Every mossy path lit up, soft and green, and every single one looked exactly like the way home. Sunny sat down in all that light and waited, because she could not tell which glow was hers.

That is when Twillan came whistling around an old stump. He was delighted. A path that goes the wrong way is his favorite kind of path, and he made Sunny a promise right there:

'Then we will try the wrong paths too, and one of them will turn out to be right!'

But three scenes and one small cat make a lot of looking, and Twillan needs one more pair of careful eyes.

Those eyes are yours!

This little journey needs JavaScript to play. While it wakes up, you can look at the pictures with a grown-up and guess where Sunny's cozy things might hide.

For grown-ups

Sunny's Way Home is a gentle story game for ages 4-7, and gentle enough for younger siblings sitting with you. It takes about 5 to 8 minutes.

Your child helps Sunny walk home through three scenes: matching colors and shapes in the forest, matching shadows by the lake, and a little seek-and-find at the garden gate. Each solved scene visibly opens the next one, so the reward is the path itself. It practices matching and looking closely, and mostly it's a sweet walk home with a friend.

Nothing in Sunny's Way Home hurries a child; they can stay in any scene as long as they want. Every tap gets a warm answer from Twillan, our resident expert in happy mistakes. No reading is needed to play, and the whole game works with the sound off.
